1957 Gibson Country Western

Garrett Park Guitars

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1957 Gibson Country Western.

Played by none other than Hank Williams Jr., the Gibson Country Western dreadnought acoustic guitar has a history based on Gibson's Southern Jumbo. With a natural finish and a dreadnought body shape, the Country Western deviated from the SJ as a separate and distinct model in 1956. The Country Western has a classic tonewood composition, with mahogany for its back and sides and the tonally-balanced spruce for its top.

This guitar just came in from Middle River, MD. Bought by its second owner in 1970 it has seen very little playing wear since then. Our luthier Taras fixed a crack, reglued the bridge, replaced the tuners with Kluson replicas and leveled the frets. It is ready to go for another 60 years.

Comes with its original brown Lifton case which was unceremoniously painted black.

    Serial Number: U2284 13

    This is a lifetime guitar!
