This ’54 Goldtop had been refinished in brown with a Bigsby, then converted to ’57 Goldtop specs with a new finish, (2) double cream PAFs, and an ABR-1 bridge. its s ’54/’57 Goldtop
This instrument started life as a 1954 Gibson Les Paul Model but was converted by Dave Johnson to exacting 1957 Specifications and features a set of ripping PAF hum bucking pickups. The back was stained in a dark walnut stain and the overall look and feel are fantastic.
This exact guitar was featured in an article in Vintage Guitar magazine about conversions in October of 2015 (https://www.vintageguitar.com/24914/the-conversion-les-paul/) and we have included a photo from that issue showing this guitar.
