For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1984 PRS Pre-Factory Santana in Santana Yellow

We are so thrilled to offer this guitar. This is a 1984 pre-factory PRS, built only a short walk down the street from our store in Annapolis, MD. This guitar was originally purchased by a fan after seeing Carlos Santana in concert. The buyer was compelled to track down the builder of Santana's new guitar and get one of his own. This builder was Paul Smith, and every detail was made to order for the original owner at Paul's shop on West Street here in Annapolis. The top was pulled from the same batch of curly maple that was used on Santana's guitar. The neck was hand carved and features a lovely Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. Every detail was painstakingly created by the Master himself long before PRS Guitars was the huge company it is now. Paul himself states that he built less than 100 guitars prior to 1985 when the factory opened. The majority of those guitars were solid mahogany and only about 20 instruments had the figured maple tops that PRS is so widely known for today. These instruments went to players such as Al Dimeola, Howard Leese, Peter Frampton, Neil Schon, and others.

This guitar comes with a letter from the original owner, as well as a letter from Paul Reed Smith, giving its lineage. This is a chance to own one of the most desirable PRS guitars!

We have seen many of these early examples with our shop being located in Annapolis and this is one of the finer examples we have seen.

Condition: Excellent!
