1965 Fender Reverb

Garrett Park Guitars

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1965 Fender Reverb Unit 6G15

This is a rare one, a 1965 Fender Reverb covered in smooth brown tolex. Fender used the smooth brown tolex in '63 & '64 so its very unusual to see one with this covering in '65. Nothing sounds like a Fender reverb unit, the sound is deep and expressive.

From Wikipedia..."(6G15) was a tube, spring reverb-equipped effects unit made by Fender. The Reverb Unit was originally introduced in 1961. It was discontinued in 1966 and was replaced by a solid-state model, the FR1000. The unit features three controls: Dwell, Mix and Tone and is run by two pre-amp tubes and a power tube. Physically the unit looks like a small amplifier head and since the early 1960s the unit has become synonymous with surf music"
