1946 Gibson SJ

Garrett Park Guitars

This guitar is in our Hall of Fame Collection and is no longer available for purchase.

For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1946 Gibson SJ

1946 Kalamazoo Michigan, veterans return from WWII with a renewed sense of optimism. A few lucky men and women found their old jobs at the Gibson factory and began to increase production of the worlds finest guitars.

We are pleased to offer a wonderful SJ made in 1946. This guitar is in fantastic condition and has survived in its original condition. It was just serviced by our repair shop and the saddle slot was filled in with matching Brazilian Rosewood and the nut reinstalled to correct an intonation issue with the saddle leaning forward. The action is now very good and the intonation is spot on. Frets are original and in good shape too. There is a small amount of touchup paint next to the pickguard. The neck is wonderful to play, large but not overly so, original Kluson tuners work great too. Comes with what appears to be the original hard shell case.

Overall this is a wonderful script logo post war Gibson flattop.

Condition: Excellent, some checking and minor dings
