For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1990 Gibson Firebird in Polaris White

Let's face it, Firebirds are just plain cool and this '90 in Custom color Polaris White is no exception to that. Johnny Winter, Clapton,  Manzanera, Brian Jones, all played Firebirds, before Gibson reintroduced this guitar to the playing public. With its illusive tones and Ray Dietrich design, it was then ready for a whole raft of new guitar heroes to add their own stamp to the canon.

The finish is in excellent condition and has faded nicely. The original pickguard is crack free which is a pleasant surprise. Neck on this one is chunky but is very comfortable to play and with the zero wear on the frets it plays like new with a good low action and excellent intonation. There is some discolouration in places but no wear to the lacquer.

Both pickups are correct patent number with ceramic magnets. These give a little more output than the originals and are more in keeping with the period. Original case is in excellent shape, just like the guitar,.

A classic in its own right, this machine is made for rock, with its offset body, large headstock with banjo tuners and mini humbuckers working together to present an instrument that is a rock machine.  The neck is fast and the pickups combine with it for an excellent, punchy sound.
